Privacy Policy
FindBot works with photos of the inside of your home, so this policy is written to be short, specific, and honest about what the app does with your data — and what it doesn't.
This website
This website is plain HTML and CSS. It runs no JavaScript, sets no cookies, embeds no analytics or tracking, loads no third-party fonts or scripts, and collects no personal data.
Data the app collects
Account information
When you create an account — with Sign in with Apple or email and password — your account identity and credentials are managed by our backend provider (Supabase). Your account is what keeps your inventory yours: all of your data is scoped to it.
Photos of your storage spaces
Photos you capture or select for scanning are uploaded to private cloud storage (Amazon S3). The storage is private to your account: there is no public access to the bucket, and photos are never exposed through public object URLs. The app displays your photos only through short-lived, owner-scoped access links.
Your inventory
The items, zones, rooms, and locations you save — including your edits and corrections to AI suggestions — are stored with your account in our database (Supabase), protected so that each user can access only their own records.
Purchase information
Subscriptions and scan-credit packs are purchased through Apple and managed by our purchase provider (RevenueCat). We receive your entitlement status — which plan or credits you have — but never your payment card details, which stay with Apple.
Product analytics
The app sends a limited, predefined set of privacy-safe product events (for example, that a scan succeeded or failed) so we can keep the product working well. These events deliberately exclude your photos, item names, search phrases, email address, free-form text, and payment identifiers.
How AI analysis works
When you scan a storage space, your photos for that scan are sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) through our backend to produce the suggested item list. This means scan photos do leave your device for analysis — that is what makes the suggestions possible. AI results can be wrong or incomplete; they are suggestions for you to review and correct, and only your reviewed list is saved.
What we don't do
- We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers, and we show no ads.
- We do not make your photos publicly reachable — there are no public image links.
- We do not access your photo library beyond the photos you deliberately capture or select for scanning.
- We do not put your item names, search phrases, or photos into analytics.
Retention, deletion, and export
Your data is retained while your account is active. You can delete individual images, zones, rooms, and locations from inside the app — deletion removes the underlying stored photo data, not just the listing. Deleting your entire account removes your account, inventory, and stored photos from our systems; full instructions are on the account deletion page. Export of your saved data is available to every account and does not require a subscription.
Children
FindBot is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that affects your data, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date before it takes effect.
