Help & Support
The fastest way to see what FindBot can do is to scan one crowded storage spot and then search for something in it. Here's that first flow, step by step — and what to check when something doesn't behave.
Your first scan
- Choose or take a clear photo of a storage space. Tap Scan Your First Space, then use the camera or pick one or more photos from your library. A crowded drawer in decent light is a perfect first target — shoot from above so items don't hide behind each other.
- Review the suggested items. FindBot suggests the items it can see. AI can miss or misidentify objects, so remove anything wrong and add anything it missed — only your reviewed list gets saved.
- Optionally assign a room or location. After the analysis you can place the zone in a room and location — "Kitchen", "Garage" — or skip this entirely. Organization is optional and you can add it later.
- Name and save the zone. "Kitchen utility drawer" beats "Drawer 1" a month from now. Saving stores your reviewed list and the photo privately to your account.
- Search for something you just saved. Search your saved inventory — FindBot shows the item's zone, the photo of the space, and any room or location you assigned.
Tips for better scans
- Light matters most. Overhead room light or daylight beats a dim closet; the AI can only suggest what the camera can see.
- Spread, don't stack. If a bin is packed in layers, photograph each layer — a scan can include more than one photo of the same space.
- Correct early. Fixing a wrong suggestion right after a scan keeps search results trustworthy later.
Common questions
How many analyses do I get?
Free accounts include 10 lifetime starter analyses and up to 10 storage zones. Premium subscriptions (monthly or annual) provide 100 analyses per month and allow up to 100 zones. One-time scan-credit packs are available if you'd rather top up without subscribing. Prices are shown in the App Store at purchase.
What happens if I run out of analyses or let Premium lapse?
Nothing you've saved goes away. Your saved inventory remains readable and searchable without an active subscription or available scan credit — you just can't run new analyses until you add credits or subscribe.
A scan failed. What now?
Scans need an internet connection to reach the analysis service, and a failed analysis reports failure rather than inventing results. Check your connection, retake the photo in better light if it was dark or blurry, and try again — a failed analysis doesn't consume your allowance. If scans keep failing while other apps are online, contact support below with the approximate time it happened.
Can I edit a zone after saving it?
Yes. Open the zone to correct items, add or remove photos, or change its room and location. Your inventory is meant to be corrected as you go.
Can I get my data out?
Yes — export of your saved data is available to every account and doesn't require Premium.
How do I cancel a subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple: open Settings on your iPhone → your name → Subscriptions → FindBot. Cancelling stops the next renewal; access continues to the end of the paid period.
How do I delete photos, zones, or my account?
You can delete individual images, zones, rooms, and locations inside the app — deletion removes the stored photo data, not just the listing. For full account deletion, see the account deletion page.
